When GM first unveiled the Chevy Bolt back in 2016, sales were abysmal - and they remained slow despite a global push toward all-electric vehicles. After announcing the discontinuation for the Chevy Bolt, and as more EVs hit the market at a much higher cost the the Bolt, buyers were suddenly drawn to the compact EV - and GM saw nearly 50,000 units sold in 2023. Looking at the data, GM's CEO Mary Barra decided it wasn't the Bolt's time to go, and announced that the affordable 'every man's EV' was going to be revived, and overhauled to better suit modern needs.

Part of GM's overhauling plan includes the Bolt being able to utilize Tesla's vast and reliable Supercharger network with the addition of an NACS charging port.
